Detailed network traffic statistics

Informations

Anasil, in the Statistic Viewer module provides various statistics representing the condition of a local area network and subnetwork, which are handled by remote monitoring modules.

A hierarchic statistics base consists of several main parts which are as follows:

  • Global statistics (Global statistics) - these are statistics collected for the whole network which has been subject to analysis.

  • Error statistics (Global errors) - these are transmission errors statistics which are reported by a driver of network interface card on an agent computer.

  • Statistics for a global package filter (Global filter) - these are statistics specifying how many frames have fulfilled the condition of a global filter.

  • Frame statistics (Frame tables) - frame statistics.

  • Frame types statistics (Frame types) - statistics describing the ratios between Broadcasts, Multicasts and Directed frames.

  • Frame sizes statistics (Frame sizes) - these statistics describe distribution of frame size.

  • Network stations statistics (Network stations) - these statistics refer to each network station and are structured as a statistics table. Example 2

  • TCP Ports - these are statistics on traffic on TCP ports of a selected station. Example 2

  • UDP Ports - these are statistics on traffic on UDP ports of a selected station.

  • Network protocol statistics (Network protocols) - these statistics on the share of network protocols in connection load and they are represented by a statistics table. Example 2

  • Connection statistics (MAC traffic)- these are statistics related to traffic generated by connections between selected stations, represented by a statistics table. Example 2

  • IP connections statistics (IP traffic) - a matrix of connections established by means of IP. Example 2

  • ARP Connections - ARP cache. Example 2

  • IP subprotocols - statistics on traffic in TCP/IP subprotocols.

  • IP Ports - global statistics on traffic on TCP and UDP ports in a subnetwork. Example 2

  • TCP ports - global statistics on traffic on TCP ports.

  • UDP ports - global statistics on traffic on TCP ports.
