Using Anasil it is possible to capture packages of any defined network
traffic fragments and analyze them, package after package. Such an
analysis enables you to spot setup errors and to solve many problems
resulting from improper setup of network services such as WINS or DNS.
Frames capture can be restricted by a filter which enables you to select
desired packages accurately. Traffic filtering can be limited by
defining a frame addressee or recipient, a protocol and network subprotocol or frames content.
Moreover, a user can run the frame capture process directly from a
statistics window by selecting a desired traffic fragment at any time.
Anasil features the capability of storing frames for further
analysis. For this purpose frames are stored in a special decoding
buffer. This buffer has a regulated capacity and depending on the set
options it can operate as a cyclic buffer.
Anasil uses a protocol decoder to process frames which have been
collected in such a way. Anasil protocol decoder is programmable. It
means that using only an ASCII editor and the knowing the protocol
description language Anasil can add definitions of its own protocols or
other recognizable protocols which are not handled by the system.
