Anasil - as a distributed
system of network analysis and management
Informations
Working with the help of
agents ensures a high potential scalability of the system and its
effectiveness in wide area networks interconnected by slow network links.
All actions that require high capacity connections are performed by
local agents and only their results are sent to the console through slow
network links.
ANASIL agents are specialized DLL modules working in the AAM (A pluc C
Agent Manager) environment. AAM governs the transmission of data between
the console and agents and enables their remote management.
The communication between the console and AAM is encrypted. AAM works as
a system service on computers running Windows 2000 and up and as an
application loaded during booting on computers running the older Windows
98/Me. In the passive state, when no agents are active, it uses only a
fraction of computer's processor power. On systems running Windows 2000/XP/.NET
AAM may be installed remotely from the administrator console after
entering the administrator password appropriate for the given domain.
The installation of AAM is necessary for the AAM agents to operate.
After installing AAM the administrative console enables remote
installation of agents, turning them on or off and performing their
uninstallation.
The number of computers requiring the installation of AAM depends on the
range of information we want to receive. It is assumed, however, that
AAM should be installed on at least one computer within a given
subnetwork.
